Professor of Chelyabinsk State University participated in the Autumn conference of European Society.
Head of department of condense state physics of the Chelyabinsk State University physic faculty doctor of physico-mathematical sciences, professor Vasiliy Buchelnikov took part in the Autumn conference of European Society on material researches, which took place in Warsaw (Poland).
As they reported to “Ural-press-inform” in Chelyabinsk State University’ public relation office conference was held

in Warsaw Technical University. In the process of the conference 9 symposiums were organized. In the frameworks

of “ Materials having shape memory effect for intelligent systems ”symposium Vasiliy Buchelnikov delivered his report.

Intelligent or smart systems – they are kinds of systems materials within which accommodate themself to all changes of external conditions. Buchelnikov’s paper was devoted to magnetocaloric effect in ferromagnetic alloys and operate their shape memory using magnetic field. Symposium with a detailed discussion on this point was organized by the European Society for the first time. As it was admitted, scientists of Chelyabinsk State University jointly with co-authors from Moscow, Mahachkala,

Yekaterinburg and Tver were the first who measured magnetocaloric effect in these alloys by the direct method.

Scientists believe, their researches have a great importance as up to now magnetocaloric effect was measured by indirect methods, which gave not exact results.
